Public File

Each local commercial radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK’s radio regulator. This Public File contains details of the elements that Ofcom regulate, such as music tracks, local news etc. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for our local community.

Events/charities support or coverage:

The annual Radio Forth Awards took place on the 19th of November 2015 at Edinburgh’s iconic Usher Hall. The event saw Charlie Puth, Travis and Stephen K Amos all appear to collect awards and perform at the ceremony. The event is designed to give listeners a chance to recognise local community, business and sporting heroes in addition to voting for the musicians who impressed them the most last year. Award categories range from best teacher, best pub or club, local hero award and best Fringe performance. At the event, local winners accept their prizes alongside some of the top names in music and entertainment. The highlights of the last ten years can be viewed here:

Forth on the Fringe is our annual one stop shop for all the essential acts you need to see at the Edinburgh Festival. In 2015, it took place on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th of August at The Edinburgh Playhouse, featuring a selection of comedy, music, cabaret and dance. Forth 1's Breakfast show hosts, Boogie and Arlene hosted on both nights.

We were also delighted in 2015 to continue as media partner for The Edinburgh Marathon and Edinburgh’s Christmas and Hogmanay

Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids has been helping local children for over 30 years. To date we have raised well over £3,000,000 and have helped over 884,000 children in Edinburgh, the Lothian’s and Fife.. In the past year we have raised £300,000 to improve the lives of local children who may be disadvantaged through poverty, have helped provide medical equipment to improve the lives of disabled children and have helped with funding for local organisations who work with children. Campaigns this year include our Mission Christmas Toy Appeal and Super Hero Day. We are well on target to hit our target of half a million this year and this is done to the efforts from our listeners and our many corporate partners who work tirelessly to raise funds for Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids.
