James Blunt owned Twitter earlier today with an incredibly unusual way of announcing his new album.
The 42-year-old singer is known for his sarcastic tweets so unsurprisingly his most recent tweet attracted a lot of attention from both fans and non-fans alike.
Rather than the usual approach to an album announcement he just tweeted,
'If you thought 2016 was bad - I'm releasing an album in 2017'
which attracted 87,000 likes in just 14 hours.

No other information has been released about James' album, so we'll just have to wait for the next sarcastic tweet.
Although the 'You're Beautiful' singer doesn't tend to tweet often when he does they're worth reading, even if its just for comedic effect. Here are some of the best tweets from James over the last year.
