The furniture wasn't attached to the wall.
A video has emerged of the moment a two-year-old boy saved his twin brother after a piece of furniture fell on him.
The boys can be seen playing in their room when Brock tries to climb in one of the drawers, as he does so the dresser falls forward onto the boys trapping him.
After the initial shock Bowdy can be seen thinking about the situation before trying to pull the heavy furniture off his brother.
The video was posted on Facebook and YouTube by the boys' parents Ricky and Kayli Shoff. They have expressed on social media how they were very hesitant to post the video, but thought it was important to raise awareness to others about securing furniture to the wall.
'I've been a little hesitant to post this. But I feel it's not only to bring awareness, but it is also incredible' the boys' father posted on Facebook, going on to say, 'Please make sure all your dressers are bolted and secured to the wall. Please share.'
According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) a child dies every two weeks and a child is injured every 24 minutes in the US from furniture or TVs tipping over.
Most large items of furniture come with fixtures to attach them to the wall and Ricky and Kayli are urging parents to use them. You can also buy suitable fittings to attach to old furniture.
